In the village of Richnava, there is an extensive illegal waste dump near a Roma settlement. The dump contains various types of waste, including municipal, construction, and often hazardous materials. The long-term accumulation of uncontrolled waste leads to soil and groundwater contamination, posing serious health risks to local inhabitants.
In the Michalovce district, certain areas face significant problems with illegal waste dumping. These locations are burdened with accumulated municipal waste, construction debris, and often hazardous materials. The lack of proper waste management infrastructure contributes to environmental degradation and poses health risks to local residents.
Similarly, in the Trebišov district, some communities are dealing with severe issues related to illegal waste dumps. Accumulated waste includes municipal refuse, electronic waste, and other pollutants that contaminate soil and water sources. The ongoing neglect of this problem exacerbates environmental and health conditions, highlighting the need for effective waste management solutions.
These examples highlight the urgency of addressing the issue of illegal dumps in Slovakia. Through the Clean Up Slovakia project, we strive to identify, remove, and prevent these dumps from reappearing. By engaging local communities and utilizing innovative solutions, we aim to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone.
